DETROIT – Oct. 10, 2013 – The Detroit Executives Association will honor Focus: HOPE CEO William F. Jones, Jr. as its 2013 “Executive of the Year” at a luncheon Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC), 241 Madison Ave., Detroit.
This marks the 32nd year that the Association has honored a business and community leader with the award, according to President Chris Ingoglia. “Since taking the reins at Focus: HOPE in 2009, William Jones has broadened and expanded its community services, continuing the organization’s importance in Detroit,” Ingoglia said. “We chose William as 2013 Executive of the Year because of the commitment and nourishment he and Focus: HOPE provide to the minds, bodies and souls of the Detroit community.”
Focus: HOPE continues to be an integral player in supporting residents of Detroit and the metropolitan area through job training, a food program, and community development initiatives. Under Jones’ direction, Focus: HOPE has expanded education and job training opportunities for the unemployed or underemployed. Importantly, Jones has placed a high priority on education and, in particular, academic achievement and opportunities for children growing up in the neighborhoods around Focus: HOPE.
