Detroit Athletic Club Manager Ted Gillary ‘Executive of the Year’
DETROIT – Oct. 24, 2017 – The Detroit Executives Association will honor Detroit Athletic Club Executive Manager Ted Gillary as its “Executive of the Year” at a luncheon Thursday, Nov. 30 at the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC), 241 Madison Ave., Detroit.
Gillary, who has been the DAC’s top executive since 1994, is being recognized for his leadership during the club’s resurgence and transformation leading up to the Clubhouse centennial in 2015.
“Ted has played an instrumental part in the DAC’s ongoing prominence among private clubs around the country,” said Detroit Executives Association President Geoff Thompson. “During Ted’s tenure, the DAC renewed a commitment to its downtown location by investing substantially in the clubhouse and property, and committed to guiding the club on a quality improvement path through performance excellence strategies and employee engagement practices.”
“We’re thrilled for Ted,” said DAC President Pat O’Keefe. “This honor is well deserved and truly recognizes the great work he’s done on behalf of our club. He represents the best of the best in our industry.”
Now in its 35th year, the annual Executive of the Year Award is presented to a business or community leader who exhibits exceptional leadership and devotion to the betterment of the Detroit area.
Past “Executive of the Year” honorees include Crain’s Detroit Business Publisher Mary Kramer, Strategic Staffing Solutions Founder, President and CEO Cynthia J. Pasky and Detroit Red Wings General Manager Ken Holland.
The November 30 luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. with cocktails and lunch at the Detroit Athletic Club.
